Your Role in a Global Practice

Be part of our client’s team as a Bookkeeper, where you will support their growing UK accountancy practice. You will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions correctly, and assist the wider accounting team with timely, compliant bookkeeping, managing multiple clients while building your skills in a global, high-standard accounting environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Client Account Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for multiple clients
  • Process sales and purchase invoices
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms
  • Manage and reconcile direct debit and payment services (e.g., GoCardless)
  • Post journals, accruals, and prepayments where required
  • Prepare UK VAT returns and CIS tax records where applicable
  • Manage client data within cloud accounting systems
  • Ensure all records comply with UK accounting, VAT, and CIS standards
  • Liaise with internal teams regarding queries, deadlines, and reporting
  • Maintain organised digital records and clear audit trails
  • Support month-end and year-end bookkeeping preparation

Systems & Integrations

  • Manage bookkeeping workflows involving integrated software and connected apps
  • Handle imports and exports between accounting systems and third-party platforms
  • Review, troubleshoot, and reconcile data flowing between systems
  • Work confidently with Dext Prepare, Apron, AutoEntry, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Stripe, PayPal, and GoCardless
  • Ensure integrations post transactions accurately
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies arising from automation or syncing issues

What Sets You Up for Success

  • AAT qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of proven bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice or similar environment
  • Strong experience using Xero and QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with Sage Business Cloud (preferred but not essential)
  • Good working knowledge of UK VAT and CIS tax rules and compliance
  • Experience managing multiple clients, deadlines, and system integrations
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently

Technical & Digital Skills

  • Strong experience with cloud-based accounting systems and connected apps
  • Confident using digital document management and online communication tools
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure computer setup
